The Literacy Connection MISSION STATEMENT AND PURPOSE:
The Literacy Connection is dedicated to helping adults in the northwest suburbs reach their literacy goals through one-on-one volunteer tutoring and small group instruction.

The Literacy Connection provides free literacy tutoring to adults in our community, and our tutor training teaches volunteers to help their neighbors learn to read, write, speak and understand English better. Our volunteer tutors build a mutually rewarding one-on-one relationship with each student. The tutors see direct rewards from their work and take pride in helping learners become more independent and comfortable members of our community.

Reports To:Outreach & Resource Coordinator and Data Manager

Time & Location
This position is offered during regular workday hours, M-F, 9-4:30 p.m. at the Literacy Connection Office in the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, IL.
Position can be adapted to accommodate various hours/days each week.
