Description: JOB SUMMARY
Supports medical staff, hospital staff and leadership by identifying and facilitating process improvement opportunities to improve clinical care. Facilitates implementation of evidence-based practice using data and performance improvement methodologies. Actively participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality programs. Coordinates and facilitates performance improvement activities for clinical services utilizing most relevant performance improvement tools and data analysis. Facilitates improvement of outcomes relevant to patient satisfaction, clinical quality and patient safety, and integrated systems involved in the delivery of care. Serves as resource and expert in performance improvement methodologies to clinical staff as needed. May conduct educational offerings to support training, mentoring, and precepting of clinical staff in performance improvement activities. Conducts review, analysis, and integration of data in workflow design to support organizational mission and goals.
The Clinical Performance Improvement Specialist assesses and facilitates clinical systems and/or processes to ensure that care delivered is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable. Identifies outcomes variances and takes initiative for timely resolution of potential concerns. Supports and promotes the organization-wide clinical performance improvement/patient safety program and culture. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field required, Masters' preferred. Minimum four years' acute care clinical experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 'Four or more years experience in direct patient care activities in a hospital setting required. 'Two or more years experience in Hospital Quality Improvement, Case Management or Utilization Management role preferred 'Minimum two years' management or leadership experience preferred 'Presentation skills in designing and implementing teams, educational offerings related to clinical quality required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED 'RN License to practice Nursing in Texas 'Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality desired.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 'Demonstrated knowledge and application of process improvement tools and techniques (statistical process control tools and team tools). 'Ongoing commitment to individual professional development consistent with the TMH Quality and Patient Safety Curriculum. 'Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards as they apply to performance improvement. 'Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and evidence performance improvement via measurable results. 'Ability to enter and abstract data using personal computer, as well as the ability to utilize data to facilitate the improvement and change in processes.
