Description: JOB SUMMARY The Senior Clinical Outcomes Analyst actively participates in training and mentoring staff in the Clinical Outcomes Analyst and Data Entry Specialist role, in addition to providing data analysis, data management and application support for the Performance Improvement Department and its customers. The Senior Clinical Outcomes Analyst assists in design and implementation of data collection strategies, performs data aggregation, analysis and reporting, ensures data integrity and enhances information value. The Senior Clinical Outcomes Analyst will be involved in high level outcomes and analysis presentations to both hospital and medical staff/physician leaderships. This position may work independently or as part of a team on multiple projects with competing deadlines. May function as Team Lead for assigned POD(s). EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree required in quantitative analysis, business administration, statistics or related discipline; Masters degree in public health, business administration, statistics or healthcare-related discipline, preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1.Four or more years experience in healthcare decision support or similar information analysis role using large-scale decision support systems required. 2.Experience may be considered in lieu of a portion of the educational requirement.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Desired: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1.Proficient computer skills including spreadsheets, relational databases, presentation/graphics and word processing software. Advanced knowledge and experience in database design, database query languages, XML and MS Office is essential for success in this position (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word), especially Microsoft Access and VBA. Experience in writing SQL queries in a large relational database environment requires is a plus. 2.Attention to detail with a high priority for timely and accurate information. 3.Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills. 4.Ability to work independently, as well as on cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams. 5.Ability to manage multiple projects; strong time management/organizational skills are essential. 6.Intermediate knowledge of statistical analysis and process control techniques and application. 7.Strong verbal and written communication skills. 8.Ability to interact with all members of the medical staff, healthcare team and leadership in a professional and courteous manner. 9.Intermediate knowledge of health system functions, medical terminology and standard coding systems (ICD9, CPT, MS-DRG, etc.).
