Description: JOB SUMMARY The Vascular Technologist II is an experienced ultrasound sonographer specializing in Vascular Ultrasound with the knowledge and skills fundamental to performing all non-invasive vascular procedures. Must have experience with high acuity patients admitted to academic/ university hospitals. The Vascular Technologist II must demonstrate the behaviors similar to the Staff Nurse / Colleague level in order to handle a high volume patient load with difficult anatomical and vascular pathology. The Vascular Technologist II demonstrates strong customer service skills in concert with The Methodist Hospital values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in addition to ServicePride standards. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Associate degree or Bachelor degree (preferred) in ultrasound or vascular technology from an accredited college, university or ultrasound diagnostic school.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least 3- 5 years experience in an accredited non-invasive vascular laboratory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Current registry by ARDMS for Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). Will accept RDCS but must commit to taking RVT exam by ARDMS within 2 years of employment within laboratory.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 'Must be able to provide a comprehensive history and physical regarding patient symptoms; risk factors; previous vascular surgery and how each component relates to the non-invasive study to be performed and the preliminary findings based on diagnostic criteria. 'Must be able to write and speak effectively in English. 'Must have strong oral and written communication skills 'Basic computer proficiency required
