Purpose:The Salvation Army seeks a highly motivated, self-starting energetic student who is passionate about non-profit organization. Intern will directly support The Salvation Army staff and gain valuable skills while assisting with event planning, corporate research and communications/public relations for The Salvation Army in the Greater St. Louis market. This unpaid internship can provide school credit, portfolio building experience, a flexible schedule and valuable experience in the non-profit sector.

Duties:
Assist coordinating and implenting fund-raising events
Maintain large database through The Salvation Army reporting system and data entry
Research new donor opportunities with local corporations/businesses
Project development and management
Attend committee/board meetings and complete minutes
Secure in-kind donations
Help with event logistics - including attending events
Assemble press kits and mailings
Other duties as assigned
