The Manager delivers product portfolio, planning and project management for the Product and Innovation team. Having developed a portfolio management approach, prioritization framework, and communication strategy, this leader will evaluate and report status of product priorities to facilitate leadership decision-making. This role requires a unique blend of business acumen, project management, and portfolio planning skills that manifests itself in a high-impact business leader capable of delivering operational excellence and consistently modeling the behaviors and values of the Dynamic Organization.
Develop, implement, and manage methodologies to facilitate product initiative prioritization and scheduling.
Work independently and/or lead project team members to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and develop and communicate product portfolio insights and recommendations.
Collaborate across Product and Innovation to develop and communicate a consolidated 12-18 month product initiative roadmap.
Perform product initiative portfolio analysis, categorization and reporting to facilitate portfolio decisions and strategy.
Perform financial and risk assessment across commercialization stage gates to evaluate risk-benefit and drive product investment decisions.
Manage resource planning processes and make recommendations for product initiatives.
Develop and implement ongoing approach for communicating status, resource allocations, and recommended changes to the portfolio.
Establish and manage an ongoing process to review product initiative results against business case estimates.
Lead the Product and Innovation team in assessing implications and impact of enterprise programs and billing system release schedules on product initiative portfolio. .
Educate and build support for planning processes and tools with key stakeholder groups by communicating key benefits.
Facilitate dialogue across the enterprise and within Product and Innovation to drive alignment and maximize the value of the portfolio and resource utilization.
Represent Product and Innovation in cross-functional planning activities.
Synthesize stakeholder input to develop and present product portfolio recommendations on behalf of the Marketing organization to facilitate leadership decision-making.
Track all product initiatives and report to the leadership team and key stakeholders across the Enterprise.
Provide project management for product initiatives, as needed, based on capacity and need.
Solicit feedback and perform ongoing evaluation of planning processes to drive continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA or Master’s degree desirable.
7 or more years of business experience in operations and leadership roles with at least 2 to 3 years of experience in project management and planning; wireless industry or consulting experience preferred.
Strong project planning and management skills are a must; ability to break down complex problems into manageable goals is required.
Ability to translate strategic objectives/intent into manageable goals and plans.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize a broad range of stakeholder inputs to present recommendations that guide decision-making by senior leaders.
Significant experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scale initiatives; ability to lead cross-functional teams while handling multiple projects simultaneously is required.
Solid understanding of business case development and financial measures and metrics.
Compelling leadership presence that motivates teams to deliver results through wide organizational involvement with strong customer focus.
Demonstrated facilitation, negotiation, and process skills.
Exceptional interpersonal/relationship management skills.
Solid oral and written communications skills, including experience making presentations to senior management.
Significant experience dealing with and leading diverse teams of individuals and varying levels within the organization; demonstrated leadership where team members are not direct reports.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio,
SharePoint and Project) essential.
