United Voices is currently looking for highly motivated, intelligent, and dedicated individuals with a passion for civics and politics. United Voices for America is a non-profit, non-partisan civic engagement organization dedicated to increasing minority participation in the democratic process.

Learning Opportunities/ Objectives
1. Develop skills in engaging civic participation in the political process from disenfranchised minorities especially youth segments.
2. Education and tours of domestic capitols in US with hands on civic engagement education to participants
3. Community organizing and recruitment for campaigning and projects
4. Create an opportunity for students to appraise their own abilities in civic engagement.

Duties, Qualifications, and Projects
We have various projects: we just finished helping a minority group gain a greater voice in Tallahassee by holding a statewide event of their constituents. During the summer, we plan to conduct a weeklong leadership-training seminar in US Capitols for minority youth (high school and college students)
1. Facilitating our capitol days to promote minority engagement in government
2. Facilitating and organizing our summer flagship program in civic leadership for youth
3. Contacting speakers to speak at our events
4. Refining existing curriculum on civics for our summer program
5. Outreach to organizers and organizations to recruit constituents to our programs
6. Building community relationships and relationships with minority communities

Suggested Skills

1. Strong Interpersonal and communication skills on phone and in person
2. Excellent writing skills and communicating well
3. Experience with Desktop Computer, Microsoft Word, Internet, and some social media
4. Logistical Event Support (Coordination of resources and volunteers for community organizing or education)
5. Event set up and break-down capabilities (loading and unloading supplies/materials)
6. Campaigning
