Description
"A Virtual Organization is an organization which strictly uses all of the following: a virtual workspace, a virtual workforce, and virtual organization management best practices, policies and procedures for operating in a 100% virtual environment."
by Prof. Pierre Coupet of Virtual Organization Management Institute

Overview

Seeking civic programs and election interns with a passion for Politics, the Political Process, Public Service, Social Media and Virtual Organizations; who have a strong vision to participate, as part of a team and under strict supervision, in reaching out to the Main VOMI Membership Body and help them elect officers of the VOMI Global Think Tank and Advisory Board; and who can bring creative ideas to the civic programs and election team and help implement them. Will report to the Executive Committee and Membership Subcommittee of the VOMI Global Think Tank and Advisory Board. Will also participate in working behind the scenes in order to assist "non-USA" think-tank advisory board members running as "political" candidates in local elections worldwide. Such activities may include the building of social communities, crafting of messaging, brand and reaching out to voters and influencers in a 100% virtual environment.

You will have an excellent opportunity to do a little bit of everything in order to help cultivate your strengths and promote your creative ideas. Assignments will be tailored to your strengths and personal interests and may include one or more of the following: 1) assist with events (candidate debates, etc.) and research; 2) research and write your take on board agendas or on hot ticket issues and government policies in your local area; 3) interview board candidates and politicians; 4) social media production work on a subject, including video production, podcasting, etc.; 5) participate in brainstorming sessions with other team members for new ideas and election topics; and 6) provide support around our efforts to identify pro-virtual organization supporters.

May also have an opportunity to participate as speaker at global web-media-conferences based on overall background and qualifications. May also be involved, under strict supervision and depending on the length of the internship, in planning and/or attending Board meetings; learning and using parliamentary procedures based on Robert's Rules of Order; recording and transcribing minutes of board meetings; and assisting in drafting board resolutions.
