Applications are being accepted for Veterinary-Technician, Pre-Vet Internship positions at Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR). WRR accepts interns on a year-round as-needed basis.

Established in 1977, Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation receives over 6,000 wild animals per year for rehabilitation and release as well as providing permanent sanctuary for 600 resident non-releasable indigenous wildlife, exotic wildlife (large mammals, primates, reptiles and birds) and farm animals. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation is located on over 187 acres in beautiful Texas Hill Country, near Austin and San Antonio.

Veterinary technician internships require a minimum 1-year commitment at 50 hours minimum per week. The veterinary staff works long hours, and you will be required to work along with the vet staff (this may include on call hours). This position requires physical labor (must be able to lift 50 pounds), ability to work in all types of outdoor conditions and to handle a demanding workload and long hours.

Applicants should have received a Bachelors Degree in an animal related field, at the minimum be preparing for vet or vet tech school, possess a strong personal work ethic and a high level of personal integrity. Applicant should be self-motivated and must be able to work as a team member as well being able to work independently. Organizational skills and ability to efficiently multi-task is a must. Rabies pre-exposure vaccinations are required. Good driving record and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles also necessary.

Compensation includes housing and a $350/month stipend.
