Description
This position supports tasks assigned by the Naval Air Warfare Center, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test and Evaluation (TE) Branch (AIR 5.4.4.5) in support of the Naval Aircraft Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) TE for adverse Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Successful candidate will directly support the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Unmanned Carrier-Launched Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS), and Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS) aircraft programs and their support team leaders.

Education: High school graduate or equivalency certification required. Successful completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or successful completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering or scientific curriculum is required. Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college is a plus.

Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must possess a minimum of 4 (four) years of experience performing technical functions with respect to aircraft E3 TE, E3 specifications and standards, and E3 programs. The position requires a working knowledge of E3 engineering disciplines (specifically aircraft EMC TE, EMI, external environment EMC, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), etc.) phenomena as well as a high degree of understanding of UAV aircraft (e.g. X-47B) avionics systems and subsystems. Recent experience with RDTE and/or systems integration of military aircraft systems is a plus. Knowledge of Naval unmanned aerial vehicles aircraft organizational structure, maintenance practices/procedures, and Naval aviation safety programs are a plus. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite including (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook e-mail). Candidate must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and professionally at multiple customer organizational levels. Excellent organizational skills are required. Some travel is required.
