DescriptionThis position supports research and development projects on-site at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The successful candidate must be familiar with microwave, analog, and digital circuit theories with competencies in Agilent VEE, NI-TestStand or NI-LabWindows, C++ and Perl. Candidate must be capable of conforming to a structured development approach with the ability to participate in design reviews within a multidisciplinary team. The candidate must demonstrate appropriate time management, task tracking, organizational skills, and ability to read, understand, follow requirements, debugging skills, understand what tests are required and test set-up. Candidate should be familiar with s-parameter testing, load-pull testing, high-speed digital and communications testing, mixed-signal testing (full radio environment), analog testing.
Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering is required with two (2) years of related work experience maintaining test applications for either rack-and-stack or automated semiconductor test systems. Good understanding of fundamentals of analog, digital and RF electronics. Highly motivated engineer who is interested in continued education in test and measurement practices of unique mixed signal components. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Additional requirements include good organization skills to balance and prioritize work with the ability to multitask; good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems; good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desired skills include on-wafer and board level test experience; familiarity with the control of hardware through software interfaces (automated test sequence); familiarity with various test instrumentations (e.g. network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal sources, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, pattern generators; high speed testing (GHz); software programming competencies (Agilent VEE, NI-TestStand, NI-LabWindows, C, C++, LabVIEW, matlab, etc); high Speed test fixture design competencies; computer skills including MS-Office applications and database management; and familiarity with functional test procedure development and maintenance.
