The Education Program Intern is responsible for presenting educational information to visitors and program participants as based upon the specific requirements set forth by Zoo New England (ZNE) and by the participating college or university, if applicable. In general, duties will include assisting full-time education staff in conducting education programs on and off-site, assisting full-time education staff with program development, conducting informal public presentations, assisting in the development of program assessment methods, and administrative duties as needed. Opportunities for curriculum development, interpretive materials design, camp curriculum design, and program animal handling may also be available. The Education Intern will encourage the public to think and to learn about animals, habitats and conservation by helping them interpret Zoo New Englands collection. The Education Program Intern is expected to conduct education programs by the end of the internship.
